Dalton Knecht Scored 22 Straight Points for the Lakers and the Entire NBA Should Be Asking How They Let Him Slide to the No. 17 Pick

Dalton Knecht is the best rookie in the NBA this season. He was the best player in college basketball last season. He's going to be one of the best shooters in the NBA for the next 15 years. And yet, he wasn't selected until the 17th pick in the 2024 NBA Draft because it's apparently better to get 18-year-olds who might be solid players in 2030 than a 23-year-old who can step and and drop 21 points in a quarter immediately.

Watch this guy. He's an animal. One of my biggest regrets in life is only being able to watch Knecht for one season at Tennessee, but I will never forget the incredible season he had for the Vols and I will enjoy watching him play in the NBA for a very long time.

I just hope every other team is happy with their decisions because I am loving the hell out of getting to watch DK play with LeBron James and make the Staples Center — I will never call it Crypto.com Arena — chant his name 14 games in. I hope Tidjane Salaun and Nikola Topic work out!
